THE SPIRITUAL EXERCISES OF SAINT IGNATIUS

The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius is offered yearly from September to May. This is not the 30-day experience most people associate with the Exercises. Rather, it is a 'long retreat' — one session per week over a period of thirty weeks. This schedule offers a deep experience structured especially for those who cannot take a month away from their busy lives. The length of the retreat allows time for reflection and integration. It will be given in the following form:

  • A discernment interview, which will be arranged after receipt of completed application.
  • Thirty sessions of contemplative prayer in an atmosphere of natural beauty and peace.
  • Nine individual spiritual direction sessions.
  • Two group spiritual direction sessions at each weekly meeting.
  • Two day-long retreats, with the appropriate meal.
  • A twilight/sunrise retreat, with the appropriate meal.

COST: $900, which includes a $50 nonrefundable, nontransferable application fee.

Costs include all weekly sessions, individual direction, group direction, retreat days, and appropriate meals. For further information about cancellation and refunds, please read our Cancellation Policy.

WHEN: Sessions are held weekly from September through May. You may choose either Tuesday mornings 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or Monday evenings 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The Exercises begin with a retreat day on Sunday, September 19, 2009, 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for all participants (both morning and evening sessions).
