Experienced spiritual directors.
Those who have experienced a 30-week or 30-day
Ignatian Retreat.
Those who are discerning the retreat ministry.
Those who desire the skills to direct others through the movements of God, as articulated through the Spiritual Exercises.
Those who are willing to be changed by the experience of God in their lives.
Internship Focus:
Discerning the call to direct the Exercises.
Experiencing a modern interpretation of the Exercises grounded in the tradition of Ignatian Spirituality.
Expanding spiritual direction skills specifically for retreat direction.
Tending the dynamic of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius in a person during retreat.
Deepening the discernment themes that support the dynamic of the Exercises.
Format of Internship:
Prayerful and quiet time to experience the four movements of the Exercises.
The opportunity to direct another through these movements.
Time for dialogue and group adult learning to enhance the competency of the director.
Materials for reflection, reading, and personal integration.
