Entering the Cave of the Heart II
     A Journey with the Divine
Contemplative retreat with
Fr. Michael Fish, OSB Cam

July 19-22, 2018

Registration is full and waitlist is closed

In the first Cave of the Heart retreat we examined the cave as a symbol of the heart and the interior quest.

Now we will explore living from the cave of who we are.

Together we will search for rhythms that sustain us, learn how to interface with the world around us, discover how to be at home in the cave of our body, and honor the obligation to bring creative expression and celebration to life.

Presentations will be balanced with time for rest, prayer, creative expression and enjoying the beauty of Mercy Center Burlingame.

Retreat begins Thursday evening at 6:00 pm with dinner, then we will go into silence.

The retreat ends Sunday morning at 11:00 am.

PLEASE NOTE: There will be no lunch on Sunday.

Michael Fish OSB Cam is a member of the New Camaldoli Hermitage in Big Sur California. Michael has been given permission by his community to explore solitude and the way of the hermit in greater depth. Although he returns to the Hermitage regularly, he currently lives as a hermit, in solitude and prayer.

Solitude is only part of his calling and he offers retreats, talks and spiritual direction to his brothers and sisters in religious and lay communities. Michael, with the assistance of contemporary writing and teachers, especially Thomas Merton, continues to develop the notion of "the inner monk", "the hermit in the world" and how to live a monastic rhythm in the world.
