We will reflect on how the Holy Week drama reflects a sense of place -- the table of the Last Supper, the garden of Gethsemane, the courtroom, Calvary and the cross, the cemetery/garden, the empty tomb. This story resounds in each of our lives as we find our place in the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus; and how the paschal mystery finds its place in our story.

RETREAT LEADER

Fr. Joe Nassal, CPPS, is the author of eight books including The Conspiracy of Compassion, Rest Stops for the Soul, Premeditated Mercy, Moments of Truth, and Stations of the Crib. A Missionary of the Precious Blood, he has been engaged in retreat, renewal and reconciliation ministry since 1988. In 2002, he was part of the team to establish the Precious Blood Center for Reconciliation on the South Side of Chicago. In 2009, Joe moved to Berkeley to help establish a Mission House of Prayer for people on the margins. Ordained in 1982, Joe has also served in parish and justice and peace ministry and in formation, vocation, and leadership for his congregation. He presently serves as provincial of the Kansas City Province and lives in Liberty, MO.

MEAL SERVICE

Meals include locally-sourced fresh fruit and vegetables, soups, salads and meat entrees. Our meal service department cannot offer all-vegan or other special menus. For your convenience, we have kitchenettes equipped with microwave ovens and refrigerators located on each residence floor. There is a health food store in Burlingame, a short distance from Mercy Center. Guests are welcome to bring special foods or supplements to retreats.
