Are you considering the Art and Practice of Spiritual Direction formation program? Or are you an intern Spiritual Director or a trained Spiritual Director? You are invited to participate in group spiritual direction for your continued personal growth and development. Group spiritual direction is a group process to assist one another in an ongoing awareness and deepening of God’s presence in all of life.

There are three conditions members must agree to:

• Commit to daily prayer and reflection
• Participate wholeheartedly in the group process through prayerful listening
• Share your spiritual journey in a safe, confidential circle

Not only will you deepen your awareness of God, but you will deepen your listening and direction skills. The first session will be a training session on the group process and a review of listening skills. Participants will take turns being the directee and all participants will share in the role of spiritual director. Each session will include a time to reflect on the process and to gather the learnings.

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION TEAM

Lorita Moffatt, RSM received a Masters degree in Applied Spirituality. Her background includes teaching, parish ministry, and retreat work. Sr. Lorita has extensive experience in spiritual direction and supervision. Her special interest and focus is in the formation of spiritual directors and in directing the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius.

Liz Lawhead is a spiritual director and retreat leader. After 30 years of working in high tech as a program manager, she transitioned to full time ministry, building a bridge for the Spiritual Exercises in a variety of Christian traditions. Liz focused her undergraduate studies in Finance and Information Technology. She completed the Spiritual Directors’ Institute and the Internship in Retreat Direction at Mercy Center and is now on the Art & Practice of Spiritual Direction team.
