In his book, “Further Along the Road Less Traveled,” M. Scott Peck made the following statement:

“Thus I believe the greatest positive event of the twentieth century occurred in Akron, Ohio, on June 10, 1935, when Bill W. and Dr. Bob convened the first AA meeting.”

The Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, which have been licensed for use by well over 200 other organizations, have led to spiritual conversions for millions of people, alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike. This workshop will explore the origins of the Twelve Steps and how they have been applied, through the use of AA literature and the personal experience of the workshop leader.

In keeping with the traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous, the name of the workshop leader is not disclosed in this public document. He is a Spiritual Director, a 'charter member' of Mercy Center Men's Group, and a long time active member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
